Making formula up with boiling water

I always boil the kettle and make my bottles up straight away (topping up with CBW) and my baby is on Neocate.

Just seen another thread which made me think ..

Am I damaging the nutrients in my babys drink by using boiling water?

Am sure we have had this q before but I can't recall.

Is the answer the same for all brands of formula?

The claim in the US is that adding powder to hot water kills the nutrients, hence why they are advised to mix formula with room temp water. Here in the UK though they only recommend leaving the water to cool slightly to reduce episodes of scolding. I chatted with an advisor from Cow and Gate and she said no nutrients should be lost when added to boiling water, but still suggested to let it cool for 15-30 mins for saftey. Your brand of formua may be another story though as its a specialised formula so I would maybe drop them an email just to be safe xxxx

as above, the recommendation of waiting for up to 30 minutes is due to the risk of scolding yourself not due to damaging any nutrients.
