Help please - LO doesn't seem to like formula. Too young to try cow's milk??

My LO was BF till 8 month, though still do a bedtime boob feed. She has never taken a bottle, but drinks from a sippy cup. Thing is she doesn't take much - just about 50ml at a time. It seems to be getting worse. We're wondering about trying cow's milk but we thought you're supposed to wait till 12 months. I'm going to call the HV next week but what do you ladies think?

You can use cows milk in cereals and cooking and yogurts do try and get her to have lots of those things maybe?

I'd say no to the cows milk. If you can get your hands on some almond milk, perhaps try that?
Or
Mix a tiny bit of brown or raw sugar with her formula. Just to change the taste.

Yes, we've all heard the restrictions on cow's milk before 12 months, but babies have historically been given cow's milk earlier than that. Ten and a half is pretty close anyway. If it were me, I would feel confused and uncertain as well, but would probably try a bit.

hi im in a very similar position, stil doing the nite feed but lo has formula in the day.he also wont take a bottle so has a cup but does not take much.my hv said this is because booby babys normally only take little n often so they r not used to big amounts. i think ur lo is just been abit stubborn, mine definately is! my lo has a cmpi so cant have cows milk but does drink oat milk n thats not usually done bfe 1yr.Los dietician says they need about 18oz but alot of this can be made up with cheese, yogs etc. what works for us is if we lay lo down and give him the cup and he will do it himself,if i hold him to feed he just gets upset cos he wants booby.hope this helps abit xxx

i think the reason that they say no to cows milk until 12 months is because up until then the main form of nutrients for the baby is BM or formula. I personally would talk to my Doctor or MW before moving her over to Dairy or a milk alternate.
