real real SMELLY poos!!!???

oki doki, i think alot of you may know my background story, well anywho, dom is practically on formula fully now,he gets one *decent* breastfeed at around 6am,then im empty for the day.. so formula throughout the day. I started him off one SMA gold infant as my mom prided herself feeding me with it. Within a few days he bunged up and wouldn't poo as much as a breastfed bub...which i expected. But it got so bad i was massaging and cycling him ALL the time to shift ANYTHING and when it did arrive it was gloopy...thick, stuck to him rather than the nappy, kinda like meconium poos! but lighter.

So i switched to cow&gate infant, now this has loosened him a *little* (im still finishing my SMA off so im alternating feeds atm) BUT his poo has now become very dark green...kinda like composted grass and it WREAKS...i mean *scuse me french* FUCKING PONGS.

Everyone gags, its like a fermented formula feed smell, but acidic, todays one was diarrhoea smelling IFYKWIM? very thick, its really stodgy, dark green etc...so for formula fed is this normal???

he has his 8week assessment tomorrow so ill be checking in with the HV about it all but anyone else getting this?? xxx

Formula poos do smell a lot lot worse than BF poos. So much so that although solid food poos smelt a *bit* worse- it wasn't the wake up call i was expecting. And when Sophie was only on formula her poos were a lovely shade of khaki- which i was told by my MW was ok because it was due to the iron in the formula (apparently 'gold' formulas are really bad for this)

It sounds normal to me, my youngest had a bad reaction to cow and gate as he had a dairy intolerance his poo smelt like that but also it was extremely explosive, runny and had blood and mucus in as well and he had a blotchy rash come up on his face almost immediately after drinking it I wouldn't say poo smell alone is a sign of anything wrong xx

thats fab to hear bless him!

HV just confirmed what you ladies said too. and that i shouldn't fart around with different formulas just stick to one, i felt he fed better on sma but pooed easier with cow and gate, so i kinda think ill stick to sma and hope he just regulates himself...hes measuring on the 9th percentile and she wants to re-weigh him in 2 weeks as he should be heavier ...there was me thinking poopy would give him some weight
