How much did you 1-2 week old eat?

Kinda worried my little guy going to turn into a blimp...i BF for the first 4 days but we decided it wasnt for us and moved to formula...

He was on 3oz every 3 hours but he seems to be getting hungrier and wanting 3oz every 2 hours.

I thought i would try him on 4oz to see if he would go longer but he still gulping it down and wanting more two hours later.

He not throwing any up, and i make sure i am winding him regually and not forcing any...

Acording to all the guideline i read he should be on 6-7 bottles a day of 3oz but he on 7-9in 24 hrs is this ok??

My little one is on 2.5/3 ounces every 3.5/4 hours....but I'd take the guidelines with a pinch of salt! Every baby is different! The calorie guidelines for adults never suited my eating habits so I don't see all babies sticking to theirs!

My 2 week old seems to have between 2 and 5 oz every 2-5 hours! It varies so much! I have no idea if she's having enough/too much or what but I'm just giving her what she wants every 3 hours in the day and whenever she wakes at night.

Hi

We had a the same problem, my little one was taking 2oz & all of a sudden wanting more and more from 2 weeks. Last week she was taking up to 40oz a day. Spoke to Health Visitor repeatedly who told us to keep feeding on demand & not switch to hungry baby. We are just shy of 6 weeks now and shes now taking 27oz. We're still feeding on demand but she just wants less. Baby will let you know & don't worry about over feeding.

Hey!

Were in the same boat! My DS2 is 8days old and will take between 3oz and 4oz bottles anywhere between 2 and 4 hours! He'll go 6 hours thruout the nite though!!

Theres just no routine what so ever! So ur not alone :-) xxxxx

Cheers ladies.

We had him weighed yesterday and the Mw said everything was looking fine and he putting on the right amount of weight...so i am now worried to much.

It just such a rollercoaster with newborns...every day seems to be different. (keeping us on our toes!)

Lol tell me about it! I havent had a day yet where ive thought "maybe were getting a routine!!"

My LO seems to be really hungry today compared to other days!

Thats good ur wee boy has put on weight great! Makes all that worrying seem silly!!
