Best things for soaking up cooking oil please ??

Hi ladies, put josh to bed & went for a bath so i've put cocoa our pup in the kitchen with her toys as when i take her with me & i'm in the bath she just whines & howls ( yes howls ) So anyway i hate oil so rarely use it but always have it in " just in case " anyhoo.. its in a small gap down the side of the oven & she's somehow managed to get it out, chewed the lid off & poured it ALL OVER the kitchen floor, she's walked in it up & down round & round so the kitchen is completely smothered.... i obviously didn't know this & slipped when i walked in pulled myself now ( very sore ) ...but what the heck do i get it cleaned & soaked up with?? I've no newspaper left, no mop left ( she chewed it to bits ).
I've so far used 2 beach towels to soak up much as i can & ringing it out in the bin but its so slippy & i keep going flying. Is there a liquid or something that cuts down grease?

Help me please ladies xx

The only things I can think of are washing up liquid but then it would probably be really slippy for ages, but cuts through the grease..Pain not having a mop..Or salt?! Doesn't salt make it less slippy?

Sorry, no real help just xx

Salt!

table salt will soak all the oil into it then you can get dustpan and brush and sweep it into the bin, then use an old towel or something to wipe away the excess.

Soak up the excess with salt and then wash with hot water and wasing up lequid. Id recomend doing it on your hands and knees if you can get down there to stop your flying on your arse.

I've led damp towels back down at the moment as pup sleeps in the kitchen at night so can't do the salt til morning, I've got fairy aloe vera stuff so i guess its a hand & knees job tomorrow

Crazy pup sliding in the kitchen lol
