Pole Dancing - For fun fitness classes

A friend has asked me and my sister to go pole dancing with her next week!

It's a beginners class, I'm so nervous haha. Its for a bit of fun, I'm sure we'll all end up falling over and laughing for most of it

My question - I hear its difficult/painful. Has anyone been, is it fun?

And what do I wear? My friend said leggings... My sister said shorts, as you'll need your legs for grip. I've no idea! x

Definately shorts, my friend teaches pole and in her studio pictures everyone always has shorts on. You need skin to be against the pole for grip.

I've seen some lovely bruises but I think you'll be okay in a beginners class. It's a lot harder than it looks!

I think you'll have loads of fun!!

Wear shorts and either a spaghetti strap or cami type top.

I've done it..It is soooo much fun and I was the only one in the class that could do the leanback first time But be warned it's reallyyyy painful. The next day and for about a week afterwards, muscles you didn't even know existed will kill you lol.

I couldn't even get my top off over my head for a week the first class I did

I have never been to a class myself but I have heard it's difficult and a big work out. I am going to guess that you need a lot of strength and balance to be able to pole dance properly. It sounds like a blast - have fun!!!

I have a couple of people on FB that go and they look amazing! I have looked at classes in my area and they advertise them for adult entertainment and not exercise

Once I've had Baby I plan on doing pole dancing classes to get back in shape. Looking forward to it but also worried about aches and pains. Lol.

Hope you enjoy it, let us know how you get on.
