have you heard of this book?

Read Nicholas Kristof's New Book?

Nicholas Kristof is an Op-Ed Columnist for the New York Times and his new book is called "Half The Sky." In it, Nick tells the stories of many women around the world who suffer from a broad spectrum of cruelties, like Maternal Mortality. In the book, Nick tells the story of Prudence in Cameroon, a woman who unnecessarily died trying to give birth. For three days, Prudence tried to deliver her baby, it got so bad that an untrained midwife actually sat on her stomach, trying to force the baby out. Eventually, Prudence was taken to the hospital where, because of lack of money and medicines, she died.

i think it should be a interesting read...

Sounds horrible, but educational. I will have to see if they have it at the library!
