I've lost my wedding/engagement rings :-( UPDATE! Found!
I don't know why I'm posting this, except I just am so frustrated and sad!!!
It's our four year wedding anniversary today anddddd sometime between 7pm last night and today my rings have disappeared. it's been crazy at our house because of the holidays - and last night we had all family over and made dinner together. It was a lovely but chaotic night - and I'm afraid I took my rings off to cook and set them (in the safe space) I usually do, but they got lost in the mix....
I've turned the house upside down, my moms in town and she's searching everywhere, it was trash night last night so all the trash went out and I'm afraid the rings have gone with it
I'm not a sentimental person at all, but I'm struggling not to cry/throw up....
Please send prayers or positive vibes this way if you can - it'd be a miracle to find them
They will turn up I'm sure, someones probably put them somewhere safe and forgot.
My husband lost his ring on our honeymoon in Cape Verde, somewhere between the beach and the pool.
One of the staff searched the pool with scuba gear on but nothing, he was gutted.
Then later in the day someone randomly found it while swimming and handed it to us.
Oh no! I hope you find them. I would be so upset. I once lost mine, I found them in the washing machine as I'd put my pants in with them in the little coin pocket! They were clean but no worse for the wear. I really hope you find yours!
Oh that's awful. I lost my engagement ring about two years ago, I think it fell off my finger. I was distraught, it was expensive and sentimental. I had to get a new one made and our insurance paid. I really hope yours turn up
Ahh thank you so much everybody - for all your kind replies and also letting me know I'm not the only one who does such things!!!! No luck yet I'm afraid they've quite literally been swept away DH giving it a week then will call insurance. It makes me sick to lose my engagement ring. Logically I know it's only "stuff" but I adore that ring and all the sentiment behind it there are worse problems to have, for sure. But can't help being down about this
Oh no, that must be so stressful! Before we were married or living together my OH was travelling in Guatemala and bought me a pair of beautiful (and expensive!) jade earrings. I wore them once and then accidentally left them at his house, so when I saw him next he gave them back to me. The problem was that he gave them back to me in a crumpled up piece of paper, which I put in my purse and then forgot about. A week later when I was cleaning out my purse I thought it was garbage and threw the paper away, the earrings were never to be seen again. He was MAD and I felt awful!
I am now obsessive about my wedding rings. Sometimes at work I have to take them off and I will tell 10 people to remind me that they are in my pocket because I am so scared of losing them!
