coffee machines

I have decided to bite the bullet and get myself a coffee machine with my Christmas money.

I'm looking for one which can do cappuccinos as those are the main coffee which I drink.

I want one that the pods for are relatively inexpensive.

It is only me who drinks coffee so I don't want to spend too much - it's likely to only be used once per day, maybe twice at weekends.

Any ideas?

We have a Tassimo. Not sure what the model is .

It uses the pods and they are usually on offer in Tesco or ASDA. To name a few drinks we have had : Cadbury Hot Chocolate. Costa Cappuccinos, Twinings English Breakfast Tea. Latte!.

We got ours on sale in Currys.

I just got a Tassimo for Christmas and love it. B and M also do Tassimo pouches so you can save a wee bit there

I treat myself to a Nespresso machine this week. I got it from Amazon for £65 including milk heater/frother. I think they are in Currys for £70 as the price has gone up on Amazon.

The coffees are really nice, tastes like proper coffee and even nicer with frothed milk.

You currently get 3 × £25 online voucher to buy the pods. Usual price is 30p (ish) per pod. You can however buy compatible pods from Lidl which are really nice.

I have had a Tassimo machine before and thought the coffees were horrible. The milk pods that you get for the lattes & cappuccinos tasted like fake milk.

We have a tassimo. I got it for free using tesco points last year. We used it a handfull of times. The coffees are ok. Not a huge fan of the milk. My biggest hate though, the drinks come out drinking temperature. Which is annoying becausee i always forget about them. And the otherdown side is it makes a small mug full.so my mugs always look half full only.

We've got a Nescafé Dolce Gusto & we love it. The pods are on offer in asda & tesco, usually 3 boxes for £10. You can mix and match what you get, or get all cappuccino if that's all you'd use. We've had cappuccino, latte, caramel hot chocolate, espresso, cafe au lait, and ours do cold drinks so we also have iced tea!

I just bought a dolce gusto one today and so far I really like it, I was worried about the temperature of the drinks as some people have said they come out barely hot but mine were hot today and I've heard the same complaint about the tassimo and lavazza machines as well. Pretty impressed for under £40 and I like that I can control how much water goes into it so I can add extra water to make an espresso weaker etc, saw tassimo on offer in curry for £39 as well though if you are still looking and a lavazza one in b&m for £19.

To those with Nespresso machines, Lidl,b&m,Tesco and home bargains do compatible pods, Lidl are nicest. Plus for the milk frother, 'cheap' milk (i.e. Iceland which seems more watery or something) doesn't froth as well as some. I love our nespresso

I've had the Dolce Gusto and now I have the Tassimo which I prefer. I'm looking to buy a bean to cup machine next, they are much nicer!
