He has been given double dose antibiotics and if it doesnít stop spreading has to go back for an IV antibiotic too.
Ps. How expensive have prescriptions got!!!!

That looks serious! That is a HUGE red patch and if untreated, I hate to think how much bigger it could get or how much more serious it may become. I'd take him regardless. Only looks like a single puncture wound so your doctor could probably rule out a spider bite but I would still take him in.

Thanks. Heís got a course of antibiotics but itís spread further past the crease of his arm and all the way around now. He spoke with the doctor again yesterday who told him to mark it again and if it continues to grow today after 2 days of antibiotics then heís got to be admitted to the hospital for an IV drip to get them into his system quicker. Seems crazy that a single bite/sting or whatever it was can do so much damage!

That looks painful how it's spread I hope that the antibiotics help soon.

it ended up down as far as his wrist and all the way around. He had antibiotics through a cannula over the hospital but we were only there 20 mins so not too bad. He has to continue and finish his course of tablets too but within 6 hours of the IV the redness was reducing. Itís pretty much the size of the photo again now and is weeping, but nowhere near as fierce as it got! X
