Weird one! My neighbour has the horn

Yeah i got you looking

Seriously though, for the last few months we have been awoken by the long sound of a horn going off 4-6 times in a row, anywhere between 6-8.30am. I'm not so fussed about the later hours but when I get woken up at stupid o'clock in the morning its seriously frustrating! It's not a car horn either!

I thought it was something to do with the workmen up the street, because its that loud and echos down the road.

One day OH said he was sure it was actually coming from the next door neighbour. He pulled him up on it but the neighbour denied it, but OH felt he was lying.

Fast forward to now and I was leaving the house and heard it again - it sounded so loud so i put my ear to the neighbours door and its for sure coming from his house!
  • Why would anyone be doing this!!! I thought it was a call to prayer but I've looked up the times and it doesnt coincide based on todays time.
  • How do I approach this seeing as he lied before

@ subject line!

How bizarre though. Are you sure it's not some crazy alarm? Although if it was why wouldn't he have mentioned it when you approached him.

What time are you talking?

I know! OH asked him when he pulled him up on it if it was an alarm but the guy denied any knowledge of any noise. But man it was loud!!!

Its between 6-8.30am, random times. Today it was roughly 8.30am

This guy is generally nice by the way, he lives alone, I think he might be fairly lonely to be honest. He keeps himself to himself, works and goes home. He used to have a wife and a baby but she left him a while back and moved back to the Czech republic. That was always odd in itself too as she always had another guy round when he was not there....

I'm not sure if its a cultural thing because we've seen him head to the public gardens across the road and I think he prays at a tree?

Again, completely confusing the life out of me! The fact that he clearly lied about it is frustrating now too!

I'd approach it again and ask him to confirm the loud noise so early in the morning as you happened to be up and going out the door when you past his and heard it clearly then I'd tell him pre whatever time wasn't acceptable and he has woke your children.

Wonder what it is

Maybe he likes to pretend he’s a Viking at 6AM and literally blows his own (Viking) horn

Lol you got my attention that's for sure . This is so bizarre !! lol

I would be doing what Wobbles suggested ! It would drive me crazy especially as he lied . Maybe he's embarrassed you heard that's why he lied.

I do wonder what it could be though lol

So yesterday it went off at 6.30 and today? 6am

It has to be an alarm as we hear him up and about right after it and not long after, he leaves the house.

I've still got an Amazon parcel to give him from when he was not in a few days ago and I know I need to have it out with him :/ I just hate that he was asked if it was his alarm clock and he denied it

He came to my door for a parcel and we pulled him up, he admitted it right away. I told him people had been complaining and he said “he didn’t care about anyone else but if it bothers us he will stop using it” what a DICK
