Completely Random Topic: Teacher Used to Call Me a "Cougar?"

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I wanted to ask someone because it just randomly popped up in my head and I thought this was weird.

I had a favorite teacher in high school. He was extremely funny and everyone loved him. He was new at the school that year and a bunch of my friends and I were in the class.

Pretty early on, he started giving me the nickname "cougar," and sometimes "cradle-robber." Yes, that is how I know he meant THAT kind of cougar... He would sometimes say synonyms of "cougar." I don't know why or how, but that was what he called me throughout the year. I thought it was weird, but I didn't think much of it. There wasn't any way he knew about any guys I was dating... I was like 15 or 16 years old at the time, and I only dated like 2 guys, who were both older than me (one of them is now my DH). Well, the next year of high school came and he didn't teach there anymore.

A year and a half later, DH (then boyfriend) and I went to the county fair and he was there with his wife and son. At that time, I didn't care much about the nickname or even really think about it and since he was a favorite teacher of mine, I approached him and asked him how he was. He said he didn't remember me. I thought it was odd, but I figured that many teachers don't remember every student. Kind of upset, I just said "sorry," and walked away.

I had told DH about this and he just said it was weird or made jokes about it. I believe I told my mother and she didn't mention anything, except that it was odd.

Looking at it now, I think it's quite inappropriate for a teacher/student relationship and wanted to know what you ladies think of the situation? What would you have done?
