Do you find it easy to get your 5 a day?

How easy do you find it getting your 5 portions of fruit and veg a day?

For me its generally easy and the only reason I wouldn't have 5 portions a day would be if I needed to do a weekly shop and the fruit bowl was empty. But OH finds it almost impossible and probably would manage 1 a day if left to his own devices. We have arguments about how a potato or things made from potato's don't count towards his veg.

When we used to live with OH's family fruit and veg just wasn't really on the menu. I wasn't really intentional, but the meals MIL made, with the exception of Sunday dinner, just didn't involve much veg. And snack's where crisps, or bread, or cake. At work there are some people who always have lots of fruit and veg and some who never seem to take anything to work that even resembles a vegetable.

Just wondered what other people's take on this is? Do you find it easy to get 5 a day, or is it a real effort?

I find it easy to make sure we get about 3 of our 5 a day, but sometimes that's all it is. My OH can be more like 2 a day too, he's really picky with what veg he'll eat, and he doesn't really like fruit. I make sure he gets 2 portions of veg with his tea at night, but other than that he doesn't really have any other fruit/veg during the day.

I find it easier while i'm at home on maternity leave than I did when I was working, I have a glass of juice or a smoothie in the morning, I have fruit with my lunch and then 2 portions of veg with my tea, so I usually get 3 or 4 x

I have 2 of my portions for breakfast, i have 1 portion for a mid-morning snack and then i have 2 with my main meal.
I find it easy, but only since ive started the slimming world diet.
I never used to eat this way before...id have 1-2 a day and that was it!

I do usually, because it is just normal to me. Although I need to go and get more fruit and veg in today as when I was getting shopping yesterday I had too many other heavy things to carry home so only got one punnet of grapes which is now gone!

it is really easy for me to get 5 veg, but difficult to get at least 3 fruit a day. i looooove veg and i usually make some sort of spinach or romaine salad for work and i will just load it up with carrots, cucumbers, broccoli and whatever else is in my fridge. growing up when i'd come home from school my options were cut up fruit or cut up veg with a side of crackers and a small amount of cheese. my parents made a real effort to offer healthy choices so i would develop a taste for all things good for me. now i know it really made a difference because left to my own devices i fill my shopping cart with fresh produce instead of chips, cookies and other sweets.

i can't always find fruit that i like that is ready to eat so it makes it harder. i have been buying frozen fruit a lot so i can make smoothies for breakfast and it seems to be helping.

I'm deffo lucky if I have 1 a day LOL. I don't really do fruit and veg. I'm possibly the unhealthiest vegetarian in the world.

I do now that I'm on the Nutrisystem diet. (Although I still don't get 5 servings of fruits as I'm not really a fan of fruit...but I get at least 2)

Before this though....yeah I was no where near my 5 a day!!
