sewing skirt Q

Does anyone know how to make a circle skirt with an integrated petticoat. I want to make one for Kaya and, while I've sussed the circle skirt bit, I'm not sure how to make it poofy. She wouldn't wear an actual petticoat

Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe go check a few threads in the Arts & Crafts section?
I know there are a few really good seamstresses in there. Maybe you could PM one of them?
I can barely mend a sock, so I'm afraid I'm no help!

Oh!
Just thought about this:

It might not be a circle skirt, but it's poofy! Oliver + S make great patterns and there are a lot of blogs that have made their things that might have tutorials or suggestions?

I get the theory of these things, but have to admit I'm rubbish at actually making them!

It depends how poofy you want it, but I would make a lining to go against her skin out of something comfy (a silky type material is standard) - a lining is made like another skirt, but inside-out. I'd then get some netting - the softer the better, and attach that between the skirt and lining with plenty of gathering. The only thing to be careful with the length of the various pieces.

Hope that makes sense!
