Feeling a bit like I'm abandoning my LO

Hi everyone. I am returning to college after the summer to re-start what I was doing before falling pregnant.

In order to survive I am going to have to work one day a week aswell as being at college 3 days. I need to keep my job so I have money to support us in the summer hols when I won't get any student finance.

My LO will go to a lovely nursery right next door to the college and my Mum will look after her the day I work.

I just feel bad for being away 4 days a week. But on the other hand, I need to get some of me back, and also if I start again in summer I will be graduating by the time she starts primary school, and can start working in the career I want to and bringing us in a good proper wage.

Does anyone else feel like this? Am I being unreasonable?

Thanks

I work 5 days a week. I only work part time but I still work. You shouldnt feel bad hun your trying to better yourself by getting some qualifications and your daughter would be proud of you if she could speak. I am sure.

Well done you for wanting to go back and better yourself..

In the long run you will be by far better off. We all would like to stay at home and watch our children grow but some of us just cant.

If its what you want then definitely go for it. My mum has always worked even when we were younger.

You're not abandoning your LO, you're doing the best for your lil family

Don't feel bad about it, you know LO will be well looked after and it's not like you're doing it for selfish reasons x
