well, What IS the deal with facebook?
I don't personally have an account.
EVERYONE I know except my grandmother and husband have it.
From what I can tell on here, and with my friends/family in real-life, is that it causes all sorts of problems within any sort of relationships.
I dont' remember all this craziness when MySpace was popular.
Why is it that Facebook has sucked people in so?
I hear things about farmville stealing lives (exaggeration, but you know, LOLS)
and parties and whatever.
I understand keeping up with people, but whatever happened to email or the phone?
I am in the military, so I am not around family/friends from back home, but when I need to talk to them or tell them stuff, I just tell them.
Im with you on this one! I hate FB, everyone i know has it and i do sometimes feel that im pushed out of conversation because everyone talks about something or someone on facebook!
I understand people who use it to keep up with family etc. But some of my friends update their status every half an hour and it has take over their lives! Why would you want to put your whole life and problems for everyone to see....??
I personally think having access to internet on mobile phones has made it all this big and i dont see the need for it all! Rant over lol.
I hate Facebook. I haven't had it a couple of years now. I'm a uni student at the moment and if people ask if i'm got FB and I said no, they're shocked and like "omg why?!"
I can't stand it. I can't stand how people randomly add you or attempt to add you, yet if you saw each other in the street nothing would be acknowledged.
I hate how people are more focused on getting photos for FB on a night out than actually having a good time.
I hate how they can tag you in any bloody photo and have your photo up without permission. Its just damn rude.
I hate the constant status updates, every 5 minutes "just in the bath", "just washed the kids", "just put the kids to bed", "just ordered a take away" I DON'T FREAKING CARE! it's like people can't do anything in their lives without updating it on bloody FB.
I hate how its in your face EVERYWHERE. Phones, websites, social gatherings. Ugh.
I keep in touch with people, i share pictures, i plan events, i keep up with what others are doing... if i wanted to show all my friends and family PRINTED pictures of harrison, it'd cost me the earth... facebook is a free way to communicate.
Myspace is where e-bullying exploded, before that was bebo... there is always something new that everyone jumps on... facebook is just huge because they are clever i guess.
I dont mind it... i often think people that have issues on there are sometimes partly to blame - not having security settings for example, then complaining about people stealing pictures or whatever.
If you're vigilant there is no reason it would be dangerous,.
As for farmville and games and things, i never play those, but if they werent on facebook playing games, they would be on another website... so its not really facebook that is the issue there.
Well I'm gonna put it out there. I love Facebook. For the most part anyway. It's easier to get in contact with people, and to organise things (would cost a fortune to text/call everyone) I like that I have somewhere to put my photos although they're on a privacy setting so only my friends can see them. I only ever add people I know and I don't play the games on it. I like updating my status quite a bit, if something amusing has happened or I'm just bored. As a single parent, my nights would be empty without facebook!
probably better to avoid it. I've weened myself off every stinkin' game and just use it to see how family is doing. I no longer have any other distractions on it. deleted everyone I don't really know or just don't talk to as well.
I use it to keep in touch with family and friends, some of which are on the other side of the world. Also lets me keep up to date with old school friends that I never see. I think it can only become a problem if someone makes it so
