Seriously, Doc Martin, what planet are you on!?

Just watching the new series now.

They just decided to try and bring a newborn baby home from hospital by strapping the mother into the car and letting her hold the baby.

They are supposedly intelligent people, school teacher and doctor, and they've never heard of car seats and the dangers of just holding a baby while travelling in a car?

They had to be told by a policeman who just happened to have a car seat with him that it's actually a bad idea and against the law.

Maybe it is the programmes way of bringing the law to peoples attention.
It is surprising how many people DON'T use car seats!

I loved that too. He was very relaxed about it all.

Even the flash back to the last series at the beginning was funny - passionate kissing during labour (I would have bitten DH's face if he'd tried that with me) and then the baby seeming to have been born wearing a nappy.

I think my favourite bit was the one in the village shop, where that woman asked Louisa if she had any pain and when she said that she did Martin demanded to have a look at her and half the village got involved.

That bit was realistic. I lost count of how many random men in my parents pub were demanding to know about my nipples and stitches and whatever right after LO was born.
