Storage Solutions

Has anyone got any ideas for different storage solutions for around the house?!

When we brought our house it was our first house and the last thing on my mind was to look for storage but after living here for over a year now its driving me crazy!!

Im looking for ideas for everywhere, living room, kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms!!

Nothing too expensive either Thank you!!

We have the ikea expedit units in two of our rooms, and a big ikea storage thing around the tv too - maybe called besta? Hunted everywhere but these did what we wanted best and we've had some of the bits 6 years with no sign of wear x

If you have doorways that have a wall either side you can fit a floating shelf above it and hey presto you have a little cubby hole high up for blankets and what not.

Look for corners in bathroom eg over bath or in kitchen over worktop that you can fit a corner shelf or multiple corner shelves to

Always think upwards, not outwards/lengthways if you're short of space, eg tallboy storage units, tall cd racks not low ones and so on

Cheap shelving units with plastic tubs to fit the shelves hold loads esp in LOs room (argos sell a canvas covered unit for 40)

we have plastic boxes for under the beds, looks much tidier than it all just shoved under the bed. we keep towls & the bedding in them as we dont have an airing cupboard.

also those back you suck the air out with a vacuum are good. i use these for my summer/winter clothes & shove them under the beds. we have our dvds on the wall above our tv (LO cant get them there too).

we have no cupboards in our kitchen so our pots & pans are on hooks next to the cooker.

corner shelves in the bathroom.

HTH. x
