Did anyone else have Vasa Previa that fixed itself?

I have a history of my son being stillborn at 33 weeks due to placental abruption last September.

I am currently 36 weeks and 4 days with a baby girl and I've been seeing a high risk OB. I was diagnosed with Velamentous Cord Insertion at 20 weeks with a follow up at 24 weeks. I was told I had VCI and Vasa Previa and was on pelvic rest starting at 20 weeks.

I was told I'd have a scan at 38 weeks and if I still had Vasa Previa, they would admit me to hospital between 32-34 weeks and deliver via c-section at 35 weeks. My 28 weeks scan still showed Vasa Previa and I was admitted to the hospital at 32 weeks on 8/21. On 8/22, they came in my room and gave me an U/S that morning. Around 2 hours later, the high risk OB along with 4-5 others came in and told me they thought the Vasa Previa moved and if it did I would be release from the hospital. They did an internal U/S and told me my placenta was far enough away from my cervical opening and that the Vasa Previa and VCI "fixed itself" and I could be released. I was released on NO restrictions - I wasn't even released on Pelvic Rest.

My issue is after I lost my son last year, I am having a hard time believing its safe for me to go into labor and I want my baby delivered ASAP - I don't personally want to go past 38 weeks and Ill be 37 weeks this Saturday. I researched Vasa Previa and once diagnosed, it seems its a condition that will not just resolve like Placenta Previa can. I also don't see how a Velamentous Cord Insertion could fix itself. I was blessed by a priest for my baby at approx. 30 weeks and I believe in miracles but I wont believe she is safe until she is in my arms breathing and crying.

Has anyone else went through anything similar?

My OB is also saying they wont induce me until 39 weeks without a "medical condition". I am going to a "growth scan" on Wednesday 10/4 and my OB agreed to contact the MFM specialist to see if they will approve my being induced earlier than 39 weeks.

Any thoughts, advice, experience, suggestions are appreciated!

I hadn't heard of it before, but the article below says elective C section to avoid complications at 35 weeks.

It's strange that you aren't being recommended for a C section. Can you not escalate/ complain/ threaten to take legal action if they don't do a C section soon???

My 2nd paragraph should start with 28 weeks, not 38 weeks.. :/

Anyways, I have asked to be induced and/or c-section as I want her here and safe and sound... The issue is after I was hospitalized at 32 weeks and released the next day, they are saying the vasa previa and velamentous cord insertion are both either resolved somehow or no longer an issue so they're treating me as if I'm not high risk and I've asked my OB for an induction at 38 weeks and I was told they won't induce before 39 weeks unless there is a medical reason/complication and they may not even induce at 39 weeks. I feel I should be able to choose induction given my history of stillbirth AND the fact they diagnosed me with Velamentous Cord Insertion and Vasa Previa and at 32 weeks all of a sudden they claim both have resolved and are no longer a risk or issue. There is no way I'm aware of that a Velamentous Cord Insertion could resolve and my understanding is if Vasa Previa is diagnosed and confirmed in 3rd trimester, it won't resolve the way Placenta Previa is able to. So, they're acting as if they never diagnosed me with the Vasa Previa or VCI. :'(

I'm taking my Mom with me to my apt. on Wednesday and I'm going to tell my doctor I am recording the visit because I don't want to regret not doing everything possible to advocate for my daughter's life and I will not go through another stillbirth due to a nurse or doctor - in my opinion - not doing everything necessary to care for me and/or my baby!

Oh, on top of all of that.. I have a history of Pulmonary Embolism last year after my son was stillborn at 33 weeks and I recently got a terrible cold/upper respiratory problem that I went to the ER for and wasn't given antibiotics or an x-ray then a week later I went to Labor and Delivery as my stomach was hard and it felt like a contraction was "stuck on" for over 2 hours. While in there, my OB told me she wanted me to get a contrast CT scan because of my history of PE and I declined because I remember the symptoms and I didn't even have shortness of breath - just a really bad cough that I am still experiencing!

I agreed to do the x-ray and was told I have bronchitis yet given no antibiotic for it somehow... at my recent appointment I asked for an antibiotic because I told her this happens everytime I get a cold > (asthma, too). In the beginning of the apt. she seemed like she would be giving me one yet half way through she brought up my cough and told me she wanted me to get a contrast CT scan because she was worried about another PE...! She told me she wanted me to follow up with my PCP or a medexpress because even though my lungs sounded good - that isn't her practice so she didn't want it to be a PE and get the blame basically.

I had nightmares even thinking about getting a contrast CT as I felt I would lose my baby girl once again but I ended up calling the office the next day and I asked for a script for the Contrast CT scan. What do you know? The nurse called me back and told me "She said to go to the emergency room for it because it would take a month to a month and a half for an insurance approval"... I explained I was already in the ER and I wasn't even given an x-ray the first time and that I had just had an x-ray and I didn't feel comfortable even getting the contrast CT. I am already on blood thinners - I just switched to 10,000 heparin twice a day - and I was on lovenox starting at 20 weeks! So she wants me to risk my babies life by getting a dye injection then going through a CT scan which is high radiation, to check if I have a PE even though I really don't have symptoms of a PE, she hasn't prescribed any antibiotics (you know.. to see if my cough clears up like I know it's going to!), and she isn't even willing to order the contrast CT which is so shady to me!! If she is that concerned about it, why would she be so unwilling to order it for me? :/ I feel like they are trying to make issues where there are none just incase I lose my baby after my son was stillborn last year and I feel like they're trying to make it out to be me refusing medical care or testing even though the outcome whether I have a PE or not is the same considering I'm already being treated with blood thinner.

All of this and they still won't induce at 38 weeks.. I'm 37 weeks and 1 day now according to my due date, but on Wednesday I was measuring 37 on the tape so technically I'll be 38 weeks this Wednesday!

OH AND!!!...

So many women on blood thinners are induced early because if they go into labor, there is always a risk of hemorrhage or not being able to get an epidural or some other issue! Most of the women I've seen post online have said their doctors planned to induce them at 37-38 weeks; no later than 39 weeks because they had to know when to stop taking their blood thinner! :/
