Does anyone have any information on this?

I know that here it's a standard test - and I'm just curious if anyone knows anything more about it then you have to be on Anti-Biotics while delivering, and possibly the baby has to have them as well after delivery.

Its just a bacteria commonly found in the human body, but some women have it in their vagina. If so, then they give you antibiotics during labor to prevent you passing the infection on to your baby during the delivery. Babies can also pick it up in the womb, so they generally give the baby antibiotics too, just in case if you've tested positive for it.
