Subchroinioc hemorrage

Has anyone been diagnosed with a Subchroinioc hemorrage / hematoma? (Sorry spelling might be a bit out there).
I had an early scan due to pain (no bleeding) and they said they could see an area of "bleed" or empty twin sac. I've read some scary thing about Subchroinioc hemorrage and that there's a chance I'll get bleeding now and if I do could oil out baby. I'm only 7 weeks.
Scared

I was diagnosed with one with this pregnancy. I found it on a scan at 5 weeks because I did have bleeding. Subchorionic bleeds can heal themselves or sometimes the drs do give blood thinners or aspirin to help dissolve the clot. I don't want to scare you, but sometimes subchorionic bleeds can results in miscarriage because it could cause the placenta to detach from the uterine wall. I would ask your dr to closely monitor you and to make sure you and your baby are well.

prayers your way

Yeah I know it could end badly but they don't want to see me till 12 week scan in 4 more weeks. They just said there was nothing they could do so no point in more scans.

Gosh, they are making you wait 4 weeks? my dr had me come in every week for a scan. sorry your going through this. I would demand something be done. They could have more compassion than telling you that there is nothing they can do.

prayers for you.

I do think there is nothing they can do so it isn't necessarily a lack of compassion on their part. I had a "shadow" under the placenta at an early scan that resolved itself. I never had bleeding or pain beyond the normal twinges. Reading all about subchorionic hematomas scared the crap out of me of course, but we also have realize that these are the kinds of things that no one would ever have diagnosed before they did so much early ultrasound. Just try to stay positive and take good care of yourself.

I hope this helps, not scare you but I have been having issues with sch since I was 5 weeks. I had a tiny bleed at first, was fine for a month and then had 2 major bleeds. I am now 15 weeks baby is doing great but the sch is still there...

I also have to wait quite a while for a follow up. Was diagnosed after some light bleeding, (about a week ago) and have to wait to see what's going on in there until my next scan which was already booked for Apr.17th. Trying to stay positive that if the Tech and drs. didn't see a need to rush things then I shouldn't worry......tooo much.

I know what you are going through, its scary to think about any situation that may put baby in danger but try not to let it scare you too much. For the first 2 weeks it was all I could think about, constantly looking up any info I could find but now that I am nearing my next ultrasound I have started to calm down a little. Of course I won't stop worrying until its gone! But as long as its small its probably nothing to worry about. With a small SCH it only increases the chance of miscarriage by 3%. Even if you see some bleeding don't be alarmed unless it is heavy or bright red or is accompanied by pain. You might not even see any more blood and that is ok too, your body could either bleed it out or absorb it. Just know that most small SCHs will resolve on their own by 20 weeks, its only the more complicated (larger) ones you have to be really concerned about. In the mean time enjoy the extra ultrasound(s) and try to relax when you can.

I have one as well (right where the baby had implanted) but I have had no bleeding what so ever, my dr told me at my 8 week appointment after reviewing my ultrasound pictures. She said it was small but didn't give a measurement. She also said its actually extremely common this early on and when its small its usually nothing to worry about. She put me on pelvic rest, told me no lifting anything over 10 lbs (which I find really hard since I have to lift my 14 month old quite often) and ordered a follow up scan for my 12 week appointment to check up on it. She told me I may see some spotting but I have not seen a single spec of blood and its been almost 3 weeks now. I will have my next ultrasound a week from this coming Monday.

Just try to get some rest and don't be afraid to call your dr if you have any questions or concerns. Even if you have to call the dr on call after hours

Hi.

I had a sch with my last pregnancy and yes, it is very scary. The clot was detected at 5 weeks as I was already bleeding. The bleeding came and went. Sometimes it was brown, sometimes it was red, sometimes it was almost purple. Usually it was just spotting but I also had gushes. Sadly, I did lose a baby at 8 weeks but it was at that time I discovered there was a twin that had survived and I was able to carry him to term. He is now a happy and healthy 8 month old.

It was a very trying time though and my doctor put me on bed rest for the entire pregnancy though ended up lifting it at my 3rd trimester. By 26 weeks the bleeding was finally gone.

Whatever you do. Do NOT Google!!! Seriously. You will only get horror stories. For the sake of your sanity, do not do it! I can't stress this enough. There is a support group in the Pregnancy Forum section. I recommend looking it up. They really carried me through.
