PUPPP Sufferers :(

Hello Ladies

Well I'm currently 34 weeks pregnant with my first baby, team blue yay! And I realise how lucky I am and I don't wanna upset ANYONE on here who are having trouble conceiving etc but I honestly cant wait for this pregnancy be over...

I have NEVER been so uncomfortable in all my life haha no prepares you for the crappy side effects.

But anyways, without rambling, just wondering if anyone else on here has suffered with PUPPP? The last few weeks, this rash has been so unbelievably bad! I can't sleep of a night, I scratch like crazy, and have been driven to tears. Everyone goes on about making sure you get enough sleep before the baby arrives, but there's no chance of me getting a good night sleep! Does anyone else suffer this? Or with anything else? Would love to know I'm not alone in counting down the days til my very longed for little boy is here haha

Much Love Hayley xxx

I had this. The midwives at the hospital didn't know what it was and told me it was chicken pox! It's terrible, you have my sympathy. I got to the end of my tether and poured a whole bottle of calamine lotion over me!
Finally it got diagnosed properly.
The rash went a week after delivery but the itching lasted until my first af came 6 weeks later. Poor you, it's just horrible x

It really is awful. My miwdife hadnt even heard of it either! I had to explain to her what it was haha. I think i'm over the worst of the itching, but it still hasnt subsided, so I'm just learning to live with it now.
Reassuring to know I'm not alone lol. xx

I had this with my first. I was MISERABLE! I cried all the time... couldn't sleep... clothes sucked. The rash went away about a week and a half after he was born but I still had some itching for a while. Luckily it has not crept up during this pregnancy yet. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

And don't feel bad... pregnancy is joyous and wonderful and amazing... it is also tiring, miserable, and uncomfortable. Good Luck!

Also had this with my first pregnancy. My OB told me it was more common when you are carrying a boy, not sure if that is factual, but I did have a boy. Anyway, cooled chamomile tea soaked cloths helped ease the itch some. So did Gold Bond lotion (the one in the green bottle, not the one in the gold bottle). It isn't recommended, but my itch was so bad I felt like taking a razor to my stomach (though I wouldn't have really done that!) so my OB prescribed me some cortisone cream, and I figured that the anti-itch stuff couldn't be any worse than the steroids in the cortisone cream, and it worked nicely. I just made sure to use it only once daily. I didn't have anything like this with my second pregnancy and so far so good with this one. Hope you find some relief...I do know how terrible it can be!

Have you tried Pine Tar Soap? It was something I found while googling, as I suffered from this as well during my pregnancy. I was able to order some, and it did help alot. Also, calamine lotion, cool cloths etc... I still have scarring on my arms from where I itched so bad.

Good luck.

I have this too, it is sooo itchy and so hard not to scratch but I don't want to make it worse! Do you know if it is safe to use E45 cream in pregnancy?

I'm pretty sure it's safe! I've tried it but it's not eased the itching at all for me. Apparantly the doctor an prescribe a steroid cream??
