Has anyone escaped gestational diabetes in their next pregnancy?

Hi first off am new to this so sorry if its a bit confusing in advance
I'm on my 4 pregnancy now and had gestational diabetes in last pregnacy but got away without needing insulin but ended up with polyhydramnious so i am wondering how likely it is to happen again.
Was diagnosed with the diabetes at 24 weeks and the excess water at 30 weeks.
This pregnancy I've had gtt at 16 weeks and am negative so far, will be tested again at 25 weeks hope that goes well too.

I have a girlfriend who had gd with her first, then carried her twins a couple of years later without ever getting it. They say it is more of a risk when you have had it before, but it certainly isn't a guarantee that you will end up with it! Here's hoping you avoid it this time around!
