Just had my first midwife appointment, and she asked if I'd be interested in a home birth!! I of course said I definitely want one, and she screamed for joy!! haha! She said they have for some reason seen a real drop in HBs in the area! And is very excited for mine!

So I have a team of midwives desperate to do home births!
(she also said from my experience with Ollie I sound like I'll be able to manage it very well, especially since he was so big at birth!)

Aw that's brilliant! It's nice when there so positive and upbeat about it, rather than having to fight for one lol. X

Awesome! You are going to love a homebirth! I wouldn't do it any other way. The difference between my homebirth and hospital birth...amazing, wouldn't trade it!

I can't imagine going back to the hospital again! Can't bear the thought of not giving birth in water, it just feels right to me!! (My hosp only has 1 pool, and it's first come first served!) When I was having Ollie in there, another person wanted it, she said in the ward after...I kept quiet about the fact it was me!

Also, don't want DH to leave us for the night like he did in hospital with Ollie!

I had a lovely hospital birth, don't get me wrong, and I wish I'd have been brave enough to go for a home birth first time round, but I was full of what-ifs, being my first child!

I know what you're saying but there is really nothing brave about giving birth at home be it our first or thirteenth child. Some would say it's brave giving birth in hospital given the risks. The place you should give birth should be the place you feel safest and that's not always where people expect.

I really do wish I had looked into it more! But I was also living with my mum in a little 2 bed flat, so I don't think I would have been comfortable there (as would have had to have used the living room) But I really do wish I could go back in time and tell myself that it's okay to have your first at home lol!

I had loads of women say oh your so brave!! Ok then ha ha! I usually find out they've been fans of epidurals though ha ha. Or drs at work (I'm a nurse) would look at me like I'm mental and it's the worst decision I could ever make. Although I didn't get to give birth at home I was there for all but half hour of it and was soooooo much more better, enjoyable and relaxing then hospital. I'm just glad she came within 15 mins of getting there cause I know I'd of wollowed in self pitty between contractions lol. Your gonna love it. Xx
