random question incase i'm lucky enough to be having another hb next summer (fx'ed!)...does anyone know if homebirths are exempt from the hosepipe ban to fill the birth pool? or can you class it as just a big bath (huge bath ), just a random thought and wondering how those due soon are getting around it?!

and congrats bubbles!! are you going to aim to tandem feed all three? xx

^ha ha I'd fill it up anyway! I don't use a hosepipe outside ever, and for pain relief purposes I'd go for it.

I'd say it's essential use and at the end of the day, who's goona bust you anyway?!!! If you had 6 baths for comfort in labour that would be about the same as a pool I reckon. Just don't make a big thing of it is my approach

Thank you for the congrats. I'll have to see how the pregnancy goes, I'd like to nurse all three because the times I tandem nursed were amazing in the early days and really helped them bond (now they just bicker ) At the same time, part of me hopes DS weans as he's the eldest. It would free me up alot in the evenings, at the moment DH settles DD to sleep while I nurse DS to sleep

Am I being super picky by being put off a doula because of some of the books she has in her lending library? They are books advocating CIO and I'm really not comfortable with it. Thing is it narrows my limited choice by disregarding her based on a book she owns

Holy heck girls, I've been told today by an anesthisiologist that a shoulder dystocia delivery is safer with an epidural.... My goodness, that sure solidified my reason that I don't trust hospital labour wards.

Bubbles: I would be realllly put off by that tbh.

OMG! I saw that too. I really wanted to bicker with that guy but i resisted. ...and did you see the part about him saying OBs push the baby back in and then do a c-section? erm, no they dont! you NEVER push the baby back. that would likely kill them! ...im wondering if he is a troll, tbh.
And his version on the shoulder dyscotia thing is ridiculous. I totally agree with what you said, and furthermore, i was not impressed that he advocated to his wife that bc she had one shoulder dyscotia then she needs an epi the next time I had shoulder dyscotia with Elliot (home water birth), and that was a super easy fix that didnt hurt. I just got on all fours...had i had an epi, there's no way i could have done that
Im def. with you on that hun.
