Ooh, I just came back from my first midwife appointment and she asked me where I wanted to have my baby and I said, well, I chose that hospital but I'm also considering a home birth - - - and she was really positive about home births!!

She was very encouraging and said I should make an appointment to meet the home birth team whenever I wanted so they could go through all the pros and cons with me.

She said that from my current records there was no reason why I should not have a home birth. Time would tell if I could but she said it was very likely that everything would be fine. She said that they are usually less keen for first timers like me to have home births but that if I really wanted one and that I was fit for it then I could have one.

So I talked to OH about it afterwards and I think we are going to go forwards with this as our birth plan. I am going to do some serious research as of now, and get ready to make it happen!

Just wanted to share, I feel really happy that she was so positive.
