Yeah 14 is such a hard age for girls! I could imagine Boomerslady's reason would apply for many girls that age. It did for me too. I hated getting changed too and used to lock myself in the loo cubicles to do it and that was at an even earlier age.

If she doesn't have her kit, they normally give her smelly lost property kit to wear, but one lesson they didn't have any and she had to do it in her knickers. That didn't put her off trying to get out of it. Perhaps I should just leave her to it?

If somebody made me play in my underpants, I would hate gym forever too.

I think making her do it in her knickers is SO out of order. How is that going to help her like it?

Well, she's not doing PE as one of her choices, so she's only got the rest of this year to worry about it. I think making her do it in her knickers was just to get her to do the lesson, rather than get her to like it!

No doing the lesson in her underwear was to teach her a lesson I am guessing. I wonder why so many PE teachers like humiliation as a tool for teaching. I had plenty of those in my childhood and teenage years too. Such a hard age.
But yes, I suppose it is a natural consequence to her forgetting her kit and should make her remember next time. :/

Most kids are not going to be world athletes are they. So surely the point of PE is to nurture a healthy attitude to sport and exercise, unless someone can correct me. Making her do it in her knickers is extremely humiliating! They should at least keep enough spare kits.

I don't know exactly why apart from the fact I'm not sporty at all, I hate it with a passion!! I just hated getting changed in front of people, I had other girls tease me about my big boobs, or I didn't pain my toe nails. If I did actually take part I was always picked last, or came last in whatever activity it was.
This was me too although I was worried about my small boobs not big ones! I didn't really have an issue with PE mine was just a total lack of confidence and just knowing I wasn't good enough, I lived in fear of being laughed at for making a silly mistake.

I was a bit when I found out, but they only have so many spare kits, this lesson a few of the kids didn't have their kit, and as she's the one most often 'forgetting' her kit she was the one who had to go without.

I'm now wondering whether I should say something to the school about them making her do PE in her knickers? I'm sort of agreeing with the school one the one hand, as she's always 'forgetting' her kit and its her own fault, but do you think the school went too far?
