A child goes with no lunch?! How on earth can a child go with no lunch and an adult not notice?!
Because the lunch time supervisors have it on their list that set children are having packed lunches not hot school meals, then on random days the parents send no lunch in and just expect everybody in school to know that that particular day their child is having a hot lunch. The children donít get their hot meal at lunch time and then donít say anything until they get home. The children need to be encouraged to say when they are having a packed lunch so teachers/lunch time staff know and this situation doesnít happen

Not sure what it's like in other schools but ours they have two lines going into the dinner centre . One packed lunch and one hot dinners / grab and go. The children are expected to get into the correct line. Two teaching assistant go with DDs class and stay with them until they have finished lunch and go out to play as well as dinner ladies being there.

The teacher called me back the other day as she thought DD didn't have a packed lunch as apparently they all get put on a stand ready for the children to collect on way to their lines . In DDs case I'm sure they would notice no packed lunch but could see how confusion could happen x

Does nobody realise that a child is sat with no lunch? I just find it very bizarre. I have on 2 occassions forgot to order a hot dinner and school have rang me and we sorted it. They have a list and check in the morning that everyone that hasnt ordered a hot dinner has a packed lunch. A child with no lunch would never go un noticed because the dinner ladies are constantly around the tables, im just really surprised to hear that it happens. Id be devastated if i thought an oversight on my part had meant my kids were sat hungry all day.
Sorry this has gone totally off topic.
