My waters went at 8am and my first contraction was 3.30pm the same day (I was booked for induction too so I know how you feel).

Mine started after a long walk so I'd advise you to keep moving chick. If I'd known that I'd have been much more active instead of sitting down so much!

If you want to avoid induction, you could discuss monitoring your temperature instead for signs of infection. My friend was put under pressure to induce, but she went into labour naturally the day after she'd have been induced having kept a careful eye on her temperature and being checked in hospital. She had a very easy home birth.

In the mean time, try to keep relaxed as adrenaline can slow or stop labour - easier said than done I guess!

with my daughter contractions started immediately when my waters broke, and she was born in 8 hours.

with my son my waters broke (trickle) and I went in to the hospital to be examined and they'd resealed themselves! The midwife said it COULD have been another two weeks before baby was born (I was only 38 weeks), but he had other ideas and I went into proper labour that evening.

Hope it's all going well and that you soon have baby in your arms, if you don't already!
