The hospital I want to deliver in has their own birth plan for download on their website. There are three hospitals in the town I live in, but I am going to the next state up (live on the border) just because that hospital is known for being natural-birth friendly.

I second the idea of writing up a birth plan and saying not to offer pain medication. I would even put on there not to give it to you unless you ask for it for so long. As far as "caving" not everyone does. I went into my second labor fully intending to have an epidural and then turned it down because it just wasn't that bad. I did have another drug in my IV, though.
