Where have contractions gone?

So I've had BH on and off, but almost continuous, for a week. But when I woke yesterday I had very real contractions, was feeling them heavily in my back and they had me rushing for the toilet. When timed they was coming about every 8 mins, and I even called OH to come home cos I thought this was it... But then they died off yesterday evening.

I can feel so much pressure in my pelvis, especially my bum area and I have backache bad (taken paracetemol now so it's eased a bit), but no contractions have come back

I didn't have this with ds cos he was prem and I never had false/early labour. I don't understand what is happening? I am starting to get worried I will not make it to the hospital in time because I won't believe it's real.

I had this with my daughter. I had contractions starting on A friday night, called my MW and she said you will have your baby very soon. It stopped and it was termed as a false labour...for some reason it slowed and stopped. It was 6 days before it started again.

Are you feeling stresses at all? Adrenalin can cause labour to slow down or even stop. Try doing things that relax you, have a long soak in the bath or lie on your bed listening to peaceful music.

I am getting stressed at the situation. Fed up of being in discomfort and being in limbo. Wish it'd either just stop or get going properly. You're right though, I do need to relax. Think I'll go have a nap and see how things are this evening. xx

Hope its all going well. Ethan was born early hours of thursday morning, and my contractyions had started on teh previous Sunday night. They kept getting regular for long periods, coming every 5 mins, but then kept oging again. When I inally did have him, I went to bed on the Wed night having not had any contractions for nearly a whole day, then leapt out of bed needing to push. I turned up at hospital after not having any contractions all the way there, and when they checke I was fully dilated!

Oh wow, that must have been so strange! Congratulations on your new arrival

My contractions disappeared for a couple of days, but last night I was woken with bad period type pains across my back, lower abdomen, hips and thighs. Contractions started back up this morning, every 7-8 mins. I took some paracetemol and managed to get 2 hrs sleep. When I woke up contractions had stopped but I still have a consistent backache. I'm very confused by it all. xx
