I'm new to this site and was full of excitement after my latest BFP but unfortunately this weekend I've had my fifth miscarriage in twelve months and am beginning to lose all hope. All miscarriages have happened just before seven weeks, with most of the having really strong BFP's.
My husband and I have had blood tests and everything has been clear so far. Has anyone else been in this situation? I am feeling really lonely, having just moved to a new job/area with nobody to talk to about what I'm going through. My GP isn't very sympathetic, he claims the miscarriages are all caused by "my mental state". I'm waiting for a consultant appointment in the new year
I really don't know what to do with myself
thanks for listening
aww sorry to hear of your losses hun
i have had two miscarriages both at round about 6 weeks and they couldnt find anything wrong either
i would maybe get a second opinion hun as youre doctor sound like a prat
if you ever need someone to talk to just pm me and we can have a chat in the chatroom hun xxx
im really sorry to hear that u have suffered like this, iv never had a misscarraige myself so i cant say i know how u feel but i wanted to give u some advice that may help, firstly what kind of doctor tells u that the misscarraiges are caused by your mental state, hes basically telling u its your fault it happened, WELL ITS NOT and i wouldnt see him again thats ridiculous there supposed to be supportive of these kinda things.
have u thought about maybe having a break? i really dont mean that in a bad way its just i think after so many losses maybe you should give your body some time to heal before trying again, maybe go to another doctor and have everything checked out it could be something simple causing this to happen that u dont know about, i think a new doctor would really be a good idea. i really do wish u all the best in your future pregnancys and do not let this arse of a doctor tell u things like that its not right. x x x
I know its hard, I just had my second miscarriage but it was a non viable pregnancy due to blighted ovum. My first the lil heartbeat stopped at 7 weeks.
Doc told me that there is nothing wrong with is, it's just bad luck. Have u had early ultrasounds to see that everything is going fine? If u miscarry naturally why dont u take progesterone to make the womb stronger if ur having healthy pregnancy?
Please feel free to PM me if u need someone. We are currently on a TTC break for 2 months and can't wait to ttc again so that we can still have hope to have a 08 baby
thanks for your kind words everyone
have tried to change my doctor but the PCT have said there are no other doctors in my area taking new patients,so it looks like I'm stuck with it for the time being
have been signed off work for two weeks so am going to try and keep myself busy and try to stay positive. Have to go into the EPU tomorrow for a scan to confirm whether I need a D&C and am going to ring my consultant later and try to move my appointment forward.
thank you for all your support, it feels much better knowing you are not the only person in the world going through this (which is how I felt previously!)
What an awful gp, talking out of his bottom!. We had 6 miscarriages in a row, and after many tests found that my hubby had something called a balanced translocation, which is basically some of his sperm have muddled up chromosomes. If we got one of these sperm then foetus would not grow properly and then miscarry. Our consultant said not classed as recurrent miscarriage until you have had 3, and then they start investigating you. and your partner. SAdly miscarriage is common, and often find no reason. Could not do anything for us ,we just had to keep trying, we have 3 daughters now!!!. Its a horrible time for you and your partner, i wish you well and good luck with further pregnancies
