Please don't feel bad if you don't want to see baby. I mc'd at 18 weeks and didn't want to see her when I delivered her as I didn't want that to be the last thing I remembered of her. She died because of an infection and she was in a pretty bad way so I'm really glad I didn't. xxx

With my 14 miscarriages I didn't have post-mortems or any sort of testing, with my two stillbirths (36+6 and 24+3) I had post-mortems and chose not to see the girls. I had spent time with them when they were born and was scared about what I may see if I did. I don't regret not seeing them because I followed my instincts and did what was right for me at that time, which is what you are doing by going to see your baby.

I am sorry for you loss, I hope tomorrow is gentle x

There was an amazing bereavement lady called pat who took us to the morgue. We sat in a small room and she told us what Ben looked like now after 4weeks 3 days away for pm. She had wrapped him in several layers of blankets to make it easier to carry him. It just made him look smaller as he had shrunk somewhat. I looked at his face and unwrapped to see a hand. Then talked to him and said goodbye. We placed him in a cradle and went. It was hard, but strangely uplifting and I know it was the right thing to do for me. Now we have the funeral on 4th July.
