Preparing for the news

Went in for my routine 8 week check and she said the baby measured at 6+1. I had a nagging worry, but my husband tried to reassure me. Doctor scheduled me back in a week. In the meantime, I have had my beta tested twice. About 4500 on 10/17 and then a little under 7000 on 10/24.

Baby is off on size and HCG hasn't even doubled in a week. I called my doctor and they are going to see me tomorrow morning. Obviously it is going to be bad news. I'm not sure how to feel. Honestly I just want to puke. I wasn't ready to tell everyone yet, but my mom encouraged me to put my negative thoughts aside at 5.5 weeks and tell the family. I just kept saying, "but a miscarriage has to happen to someone, mom. I can't live in this fantasy world where I pretend it couldn't be me." Now I feel like I just "knew" from the beginning that this baby wouldn't make it. You aren't supposed to feel negative like that when you find out about your very first pregnancy.

I am supposed to be traveling to Portland on Wednesday to see my brother, but I'm not sure what I should do. I don't want to cancel my ticket because I am so very close to my brother and have been waiting months to see him. But what am I supposed to do?! Do I get on the plane and wait for the bleeding to start? And how can I have a good time visiting my brother if I know I am just waiting to miscarry the baby?

I guess it isn't confirmed until tomorrow's appointment, but I don't have any hope at this point. The odds are stacked against me. i just need to make it through the next 20 hours.

I don't have any advice, but I am so, so very sorry for your loss. I had a very early miscarriage last December, and I felt the same--I just kind of had the feeling from the beginning that something wasn't right. I'm so sorry, and I hope you can make a decision about your trip that you feel good about. I also hope you can heal quickly physically, and when the time is right, you feel good about moving forward TTC. Thinking of you--big, big hugs.

I'm so so sorry for your loss. I had a loss at 10 weeks in March and then yesterday found out this this pregnancy is a blighted ovum. My only advice is to take it one day at a time and do what feels best for you. There isn't a timetable to how you should be feeling. I wish you all the best!!

I'm having a great time, but just always wondering in the back of my mind when it is going to start. I have had some cramps this afternoon, but still no spotting or bleeding. Hope you are doing well!
