A bit of a saga - can anyone help?

Hiya,

I am posting on here out of desperation really; I would really appreciate any advice or hear similar stories as all this is driving me a bit bonkers!

So basically, came of BCP end of May to try for a 4th; no period or any sort of bleeding for weeks. Then OPKs showed I was going to ovulate and think I did around 7th Sept.

Did a PT on 16th Sept - faint positive. Then I started bleeding - heavily. So I just chalked it down to a chemical.

Continued bleeding but boobs started hurting, felt sick (get HG each pregnancy) so did another PT on 20th and strong positive (and 2-3 on digi).

Went to Drs who referred me to EPU. Had a series of blood tests which were the following:

13.4
31
65
37
29
77

I have had a couple of scans but they couldn't see anything.

The last one (77) was from this Monday.

I know that this isn't a viable pregnancy and that's not what's bothering me; I lost an ovary due to large cyst a couple of years a go so I only have one functioning tube/ovary and if this turns out to be ectopic then I am desperate not to lose my tube.

They are labelling it as pregnancy of unknown location and have told me to come back next Mon for another blood test.

This has been going on for nearly 4 weeks now and I am so fed up.

I am still bleeding, but slightly (bright pink).

Has anyone had any experience with this?

I am on the look-out for shoulder-pain etc but its really hard not to imagine pain when you're worried about it!

Thanks for taking the time to read this,

xxxxx

I'm so sorry you're going through this.

I had an ectopic (ovarian) last January, and the shoulder tip pain didn't come until way after the abdominal pain which I found out later was my ovary rupturing. The shoulder tip pain is usually caused by internal bleeding so you're likely to have other abdominal pain first if it is ectopic (I believe this is the case with tubal ectopic too).

I hope they manage to treat you before any damage

Hey, I am in the same eptopic limbo as you. I am 6+2 hcg last Tuesday was 188 with a super slow doubling time like 690hrs. I had a scan and they saw nothing. I just really want this to be over, I don't want to lose my tube. I am supposed to get more blood work, and have an appointment Friday. I'm praying both of us get out of this situation with tubes intact.

Hi ladies,

Thanks for your replies, much appreciated :-)

Just a quick update; went for a blood test yesterday and my hcg was down to 11 - yay!

No idea why it took so long to go down nor how much longer it will take to get to 0 but at least it's on it's way.

Mearly I hope you get some news one way or another soon; it's the not knowing which gets to you most isn't it?

Xxxxxx

Im glad you got good news! I am waiting for dr office to call with yesterday's hcg number, I'm hoping its lower!

Will you try right away after this, or wait a few cycles? With back to back losses I think I might just wait till January so I can enjoy the holidays without the possibility of heart break. Waiting is hard though.
