Didn't know until I MC'd ... no doctors appointment?

So I don't know what to think really.

I went on the pill about 6 weeks ago and ran 2 packs together (I also started the pack mid-cycle as I have PCOS so waiting for the end of a cycle can take months).

On Monday I started bleeding a weird dark brown discharge, with cramps and backache - which was in the middle of my pill pack so I knew something wasn't right. Have been super tired lately and had a "feeling" I was pregnant even though I dismissed it.

Last night I stood up and passed what I only think can be a sac - it was round, hollow like a balloon with a flat end and was around the size of a plum. (sorry TMI)

I rang my GP this morning and told her what happened and that from my dates, I could have been anything up to around 8/9 weeks pregnant.
I spoke to the hospital last night and they said that the GP would probably refer me to the EPU to make sure that everything had passed and that there was no infection - but the doctors haven't asked me in to see me .. is this normal?

I have never had a mc but I have lost something similar to what you described. I had bad cramping too. I looked into it and it is possible to lose the whole lining in one go as part of a period, it's the part that would normally break down and come out as clumps. This has happened to me twice, both times when I was on the pill and took it for too long. It may be similar or maybe a mc - I just thought I'd share my experience.

Your GP isn't a specialist in pregnancy. A consultant gyno will see you at the EPU if they need to.

I had a miscarriage many years ago, not having a clue I was pregnant. I went to my GP the day after passing the baby and he took bloods and checked for HCG. The sac was about the size of a golfball and from that and the hcg level he guessed I was 8-9 weeks pregnant. The baby was like a little cashew nut.

In NZ you wouldn't go to an emergency room or anything, and would just see a GP or even a midwife, don't know how it works in other countries.
