First Period After Miscarriage?

I had a miscarriage a month ago. I stopped bleeding 2 weeks ago. Yesterday evening I started having menstral like cramps and last night I noticed a brownish discharge when I went to the bathroom. I haven't had any cramps today, but I am still having the brownish discharge. I'm not sure if this is the beginning of my menstrual cycle or not. Is this what your period is supposed to be like after a miscarriage?

Hey stillmoving, I had a miscarriage around 11th Dec but didn't bleed for as long as you did, just got my first AF on Thursday but has been a constant flow and v painful and still going ( thank goodness for neurofen with codeine and hotwaterbottles!! ). From all the threads I've read it vary's wildly from one lady to the next - doesn't seem like there is a "usual" first AF after a miscarriage .

Hope everything sorts itself out and take some you time

take care hx

I got my first AF after my MC early last week... Mine did start as browny very thin sort of dischargy like stuff. Sort of like how it was when my MC started . I had a hospital appointment the next morning, asked about it there, and he said was most probably the start of AF and low and behold by the evening I knew it was definitely AF.

So I would say that yeah, in all likelihood it is probably AF.. But if you feel concerned or scared about it, or it changes in a way that makes you feel so, don't be scared to go to your doctor. It's better to get the reassurance than worry...

I got my AF 4 days ago after MCing on Dec 10th. It started off very slow and spotty like and then raged for two days and now it's back to very thin barely there spotting to the point where it's not really around even when I wipe. I did notice what looks like uterine lining "sheets" in with minimal clotting which I've been told is completely A/OK. I didn't cramp a lot and it was very manageable with motrin. Like most of my AF encounters it's tapering off after 4 days. Don't be too concerned unless there's a foul odor or you're bleeding heavy enough to soak through a pad an hour. Same concerns with the original MC because that could be a sign you didn't have a full MC and will need help.

So, it's not clear from some of these posts. How early can you have af after ERPC? I had it done about 10 days ago, had light bleeding for a day, then hardly any since, and it stopped completely a couple of days ago. But I feel like I have PMS!!!!!!! I am dropping stuff, words coming out wrong, really ratty etc. Is it possible to have AF so early?

My periods returned 6 weeks after both m/cs. They were both a bit lighter and less painful than my average AF, but other than that, they were "normal"

Women have pretty good instincts. If you feel there isn't something quite right, go and get checked out.
