I had a miscarriage about two months after we got married in 2009, and was scared to have a lot of sex after that miscarriage and decided to start having sex alot in 2011 and decided to go to a fertility specialist. We found out we were pregnant in February and had a miscarriage in March. They were both 8w 5dys. I tried to go back to work last Thursday and all it took was one hug from a co-worker and I broke down, so my mom gave me some nerve pills. I honestly think that the nurse at the fertility clinic made me have a miscarriage because I pull about 1,000 to 5,000 pounds of containers (I work at UPS). Now, I had a post op yesterday morning and saw no blood and we decided we would try to have sex. After we had sex yesterday afternoon, I saw blood, so we decided that we would wait for another week to start again. Yes, they sent the fetus off for testing and we are also going to get some blood tests done as well, but I am waiting for the woman to give me a call back to let me know if my insurance will pay for our blood tests because my doctor wants us to have a chromosomal and apa blood tests done, but the apa blood test is only done on women. I just feel like I did everything that I could right for this last pregnancy such as no caffeine, cut back on smoking, and drank a lot of water. It was so heartbreaking because I was crying for both of our miscarriages to that point I had actually almost a breakdown with my nerves.....didn't want to hardly eat much and still doesn't. The doctor wants me to lose some weight which that's fine, but I honestly don't think that has anything to do with it because I've known some women who are overweight actually had kids with a healthy pregnancy. I just want us to start trying again, because I think that will actually help us with the grief. We will not know anything about the test until another 6 to 8 weeks from last Monday, so I'm hoping that will tell us something why I can't go past 8wks and 5days because blood tests came back fine, like my progesterone and thyroid......my x-ray of fallopian tubes and uterus is fine. I just don't understand it.

Hey hun,am sorry u r going through this I know exactly how u feel.It is good that u are getting some tests done, just to check everything out.I was like you I cut out caffeine, ate healthly and all that they say to do.In my case it wouldnt of made a difference what I did or didnt do,as it looks like a baby never formed as I was dignosed with a blighted ovum.I dont think being overweight is a problem,I see loads of women who are overweight and have loads of kids. Its good u have had your fallopian tubes and uterus checked,I am yet to get that as they are starting me off at the preconception clinic then when my cycle returns will send me to the fertility clinic. My first appoitment is next wed so will knw more then.I never thought pregnancy would be like this,my partner and I decided a yr ago we would try for a baby, started to try in august of last year fell pregnant in oct.I dont seem to have a problem getting pregnant its just staying pregant.I had a few breakdowns just after the mc,the pain is so raw and still is.It is really unfair that some of us have to go through this.Hopefully we can both get some answers and have a beautiful baby in our arms in no time.

take care hun xxx

Katleigh, I understand what you are saying, and this keeps running through my mind as I keep living through this that the nurse had something to do with it and being pregnant, you can't do a whole lot of strenuous activity and it doesn't matter how far you are. I think the next time I do get pregnant, they need to automatically put me as high risk and take me out of work through the first trimester and to make sure I can get through the first trimester. I think I went overboard yesterday because all I kept thinking was stay busy, and well I paid the consequences because my abdomen starting hurting, which that is not a good thing at all.......I don't know if it had something to do with me and my husband trying to have sex Monday (a week after the d&c) or I was just trying to keep busy at work. I really would like to start trying again and we will see about next Monday. They do say that you are more fertile after you had a miscarriage naturally or after a d&c. My mom had 15, but two of them were real miscarriages and the other were as you can say chemical......I'm just glad that I haven't had to go through that, and I hope I don't have to. I'm hoping that a 3rd time is a charm.

Hey hun, just to clarify did the nurse say she thinks the strenuous activity caused the miscarriage ? If they think it did or even put u at a greater risk,it is deffiently important for u to be taking it easy during your first trimester.Having sex very well could of caused your abdomen to hurt,as your body is still healing.I have also heard u r most fertile after a mc,I fell pregnant 2 months after my first mc.Im not sure whether we will try after my first cycle in april,or will wait till may.It is very sad that your mum has had 15 that must of been so hard on her,it is unfair that some of us have to go through this pain and emotional rollercoaster.take care hun ,and keep us updated xxxx

Kat, no, the nurse actually told me that I could do my regular activities when I got pregnant and that I wasn't far along that it could hurt the baby. My job is really physical and especially when you are pulling containers that can weigh from 1,000 to 5,000 pounds with packages in it is strenuous activity and not to mention heavy packages. The empty containers when empty, the tare weight ranges from 450 to maybe 600. I also pull dolly tongues for containers to put on and that's how we carry them. So yes, I think the nurse told me wrong on that. Also, that's the only reason why I told my husband we should wait for another week try to have sex again.

Hey hun,oh I understand now hehe.I know they say it is ok to carry on and do the things that u normally do,and heavy lifting is ok but what u lift is very heavy.I can see why u would think that the heavy lifting could of hurt your baby,as that is very strenuous. But like most miscarriages they dont know what causes them, which is the worst part all we want is answers, and how to prevent them.Keep me updated on how u get on,take care hun xx
