At work, unsure if I started to miscarry...

Hi ladies, I am sitting at work and have no one to talk to about this so of course, I needed to come on here.

I am in the middle of my 30 hours shift at work and went to the bathroom to find that I believe my miscarriage has started. It was more red when I wiped (never had that) and was so scared and sad I had to run out of the ICU I was on to avoid having other nurses/staff and such see me cry.

I finally am pulling it together to finish my shift but I was SO hoping this wouldn't happen on a day like today (long shift). I am here another 12 hours and this is torture having to deal with this in this way. I went back to the bathroom and it is back to brown.

I am still hoping for it to taper off, make it to my appointment on Monday and find a miracle. So sad, huh? I have to pee again but avoiding the bathroom because I am scared to see if it is still there.

It's going to be a long night...

Oh no, I am so sad to hear that. Is there any way you can go home? Mine started off brown and then turned to red, then was quite dark red - almost like a deep purple. I haven't noticed too much in my pad - it has mostly been when I go to the bathroom and there is a lot of it.

I hope you can go home, hun.

Hi jezzie, it's hard to say it just depends. For me it was similar to what you're describing but it never really picked up. I worked while I was waiting to miscarry too. It would change from brown to red to brown and then kind of tapered off. If you don't want to leave until you are sure then maybe wait to see if it picks up or until you feel cramps then say you arent feeling well so you can leave. So sorry you are going through this while at work. hang in there.

try stay positive but prepare yourself at the same time, i had bright red and rather heavy bleed with my daughter so miracles do happen. the fact its gone back brown is good peraps you have an irritable cervix that has bleed a little due to your long work shift (im gathering your busy at work with little resting/stting). keep us posted and please go home if you need to work will have replacement staff if you need to go xxx

I'm so sorry Jezzie that you have to worry about this and at the same time put it aside during work. By the time stamp of your first post - I guess you're probably home by now. Just relax. Thinking of you and I hope everything goes okay at your scan tomorrow.

Hi hon. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this fright, especially at work.

Do you have any symptoms beyond bleeding? Any cramping? Have you had any bad news from ultrasounds?

I ask because I have been pregnant 5 times, and I have bled in all five of my pregnancies. I have one daughter, and I appear to be holding on to this pregnancy, too, despite a few terrifying gushes of very bright red blood.

If you're cramping heavily, then it's probably bad news. If you just bleed briefly, even if it's heavily, and then the bleeding stops, try to just get yourself an ultrasound ASAP to figure out what is going on. It might be the worst, or it might be okay. If ultrasound is prohibitively expensive, at least get your HCG levels tested so that you can see if they're where they should be, and if they're rising in a couple of days.

I'm at 15 weeks 5 days on a pregnancy that appears to be going well despite a couple of major bleeding incidents. I stood up one night and blood gushed down my legs, soaking my socks. I was sure it was over. But cramping never started and ultrasound the next morning showed a very active, healthy-looking fetus with a strong heartrate. All inspection since has showed the same good signs.

This is all just to say that I completely understand how scary this is. I completely understand how devastating it is if it IS a loss. But please hang in there and get checked out, because sometimes women just bleed. It's a good sign that it's back to brown again. I'm hoping for the very best for you!

Love and strength.

I was diagnosed by my tech with a blighten ovum. I am going to see my doctor tomorrow. I had another episode of red blood when I wiped about 10 minutes ago, but not alot. Both times (TMI) were after a bowel movement, so maybe it happens with that sometimes (sorry TMI).

My u/s both showed nothing inside and this was at 7+5 and 8+5, where I was measuring 5+5 and ~6 weeks in my gestational sac. I am not sure if my weeks were off but it was going off my ovulation and I am thinking I implanted late as well.

I rechecked my Hcg behind my docs back and it was originally 818 then 1247 between week 3-4. At 8+6 I rechecked thinking it would be low and give me closure. Welp 21,325. No closure. My gestational sac was 1.3 before then 1.6.

I am going to the doctor for my scheduled appointment tomorrow. That will be it then, if she says it is done then I will hope for the pill instead of the D&C and start trying again. I am just hoping for a miracle. I keep reading misseddiagnosismiscarriage.com and probably isn't the best idea. Empty sac was found at 8+5. I maybe should just accept it. I forgot to ask if myuterus was tilted (but from the look of it it's not).

I am having very mild cramping. Maybe with this and the new spot of blood I should give up, but I really don't want to... I want to hold on to hope. Tomorrow will be the day though.
