Rough Day

I just found out today that the fetus stopped growing two weeks ago and there was no heartbeat. It's been a very stressful day. I'd had no signs of a miscarriage but now I have some cramping. I think it's brought on by the stress. I'm wondering how long it would take before I miscarried naturally and what early symptoms might be. I have a d & c scheduled for thursday but would honestly like things to be over naturally in the next day or two. Any thoughts.

I could have written your post, mine was also found yesterday morning with the same thing and i have a procedure thurs morning. Ive also had to cancel a holiday that i had booked for today which hasnt helped with the stress levels and i just feel numb now. Is this your first baby? I had cramping yesterday afternoon but its the first i felt, no warning signs prior. I too want things over but dont think i want it to start naturally im not sure i could stand it, the hospital procedure albeit im scared witless just seems mentally more doable. Do you feel numb? Is this your first? I really dont know whether i want to ever try again at the moment, i just dont know if i can put myself or my devastated hubbie thru this again when all he wants is to be a dad.

I feel the same as you. I'm so scared of the procedure but I just want to move on. Part of me wants to try immediately, and part of me wants to give up completely. We'd already told some people so we have to spread the news and it just sucks . I'm sorry you're going through this too.

i would never wish this heartbreak on anyone but im glad someone out there understands where im at, we also told people and have the problem of explaining why im not on holiday to work etc that has been horrible, had to make up some story about appendix problem so i dont have to discuss it with general nobody's at work that will stick their nose in. luckily i have the support of bosses who have given me some time to get my head round this hideous thing.

Where abouts are you in the world?

Hi NT,
I'm in the United States. Were they able to confirm what might have caused your miscarriage? They found a cystic hygroma on my ultrasound. We've decided we probably won't do genetic testing yet because it won't change our future decisions.

I seriously did not see this coming so I'm really in a state of shock. I'm also really nervous for the procedure tomorrow and I just want it all to be over with. Keep me posted on how you're doing!

I'm not able in the uk to get any diagnosis, they don't do that unless u have had 2 miscarriages. I am not sure what the cause is, they say it's usually chromosomal problems. I'm worried for tomorrow but just want it over.

I'm so sorry you find yourself in this situation. I was in the same position two weeks ago. I chose to have the d&c. I started to miscarry naturally the day before but still had the surgery. I began cramping and had spotting the day before, and bled heavily the morning of the surgery. The surgery is very easy physically. Emotionally it is tough.

As far as cramping today, I have read that often your body begins to process the mc after your mind is aware so I don't think it is uncommon for it to begin after the scan.

If you have any questions about the surgery let me know. I know I felt better going in knowing to what to expect.

Sending you hugs.

I've had the procedure now and I'm home. Little bit sore with slight cramping but nothing too bad. Thank you for the support ladies, I hope yours has not been too bad either newbie x I think my hubbie is more distressed than I am, I just was upset when i came around but now just feel a bit tearful and feel relieved now after the horrors of the last 48 hours, I have no idea how some ladies find the strength to wait it out naturally, emotionally I feel like I've been thru hell and back, waiting any longer I think I'd have lost my mind. X

I too found out my bean had passed yesterday and was scheduled for a D&C today but they cancelled, now I have to go in tomorrow, after reading your post I feel a bit more at ease that I can cope with it, I wish you all the best and hopefully we can all get through this difficult time together xxx

I'm glad you're doing well NT. I have my appointment in a few hours. I'm really just ready for everything to be over with. My spotting stopped and who knows how long I'd have to wait so I'm just ready for today to be over with. I'll keep you posted.

I'm sorry about your loss kelly. I hope things go smoothly for you tomorrow as well.
