Check up

I have my 4 week check up tomorrow for my D&E. I'm beyond nervous about it bc I'm not seeing my midwife since she didn't do the procedure & I feel really dumb being stressed out about this but the doctor who did the procedure was a male & I was asleep during the procedure & the only other male who has been in that territory is my hubby. I'm also freaked out that I might not get the news I want to hear. But mostly its bc he's a guy. I feel so silly & dumb feeling this way. Plus all tye emotions I had dealt with have came flooding back the past couple days. I'm a wreck.

I am so sorry for you loss. If you want you can request a female but the person who did the procedure would be best but if you are uncomfortable you should do what you feel is best.

It is always awkward the first time you see a male Dr., but you have to think of him as a Dr. not as a guy "looking down there". My OB/GYN is male, and while he is the only Dr. I have ever seen, I wouldn't switch. He is the best Dr. Plus don't worry about your emotions. I cried in front of my Dr. and he was very compassionate. This Dr. does this for a living and should be sympathetic.

If you are really that uncomfortable, request a female Dr., but honestly you will probably not think it was a big deal afterward.

Good Luck!

Thanks ladies the anticipation was worse then the actual exam. Everything is back to normal. He said from my cervical mucus (sorry tmi) my period should be here within 2 weeks. He really encouraged us to wait until after this first cycle to start trying. Now I really feel silly about how I was feeling....

All of my doctors have been males and I think they all did a great job at making not only me, but my husband feel comfortable as well. It will be okay and I hope you get good news!
