Strange symptoms after ERPC - can anyone help?

Hi Ladies,

I had a ERPC yesterday after being diagnoised with a mmc last week I had started to miscarry naturally, but had been in agonising paid (the same as I experienced in labour with ds) which caused vomiting.

I have had a ERPC before with my first pregnancy and didnt have any issues after the op

Last night after the op, I had HORRIBLE diarreah, very foul smelling and sort of sandy/grey coloured. I've had diarreah every time I've eaten and also I have got terrible eggy foul smelling burps. Is this normal? Im also very bloated with wind.

Can anyone help

Is this normal?

Thanks for your replies. The ward i had my op on is closed over the weekend so im not really sure where to ring.

An erpc is 'evacuation of retained products of conception'. You are given a general anaesthetic and then they enter the uterus via the cervix with a little tube and suck everything out. i didnt have to have any meds to dialate my cervix as it was already open.

I'm sure it'll pass with time, but maybe try calling a 24 hour nurses hotline. Did they give you a number. If not, looking up the nearest hospital online and they should have a number you can call.

I phoned the sister ward to where i had my op this morning and they reckon its an unrelated bug. It never rains but it pours

Im not totally convinced that they are unrelated though so im going to see my gp tomorrow for a follow up xxx
