So many questions...

After TTC for years I got a faint BFP at only 9dpo, the faint line became darker until it was as dark as the control line, about 13 dpo. At 13 dpo I also had blood work my hcg beta was 100 and my progesterone level was at 31, the dr said everything looked good so far, 7 days later (yesterday) I had another hcg beta and the dr called last night to say my hcg beta was only 34. He said we will check in a week to see if hcg has reached 0. He said more than likely a chemical pregnancy, but if hcg level remains around the same he will suspect ectopic. He says he thinks I should start bleeding soon.

If anyone knows any answers to my questions please let me know..

With ectopic doesn't the hcg level usually start out low and stay low, such as not starting at 100 and dropping, wouldn't it have been around 34 and stayed there?

When should I expect to start bleeding, when I start bleeding is it going to be bad even though I wasn't far along at all?

I have only had cramping during the night since around the time I got first BFP, and now I am still having AF like cramps off and on throughout the day. They are not generalized to one area but some of them are pretty bad. I am very scared of ectopic pregnancy as I have already had one ovary and tube removed due to a large cyst so I am so scared to lose the other one.

Also, would I need to have a d&c or not since I was only very early?

Any advice is apprectiated, as I am still in shock and devasted after trying for 5 years to only have this end so quickly.

Well I don't really have answers but I didn't want to read and run. I don't know anything about ectopic but I do have some experience with miscarrying. When you start to bleed isn't really predictable. With my first miscarriage I had spotting on and off for weeks and found out the baby stopped growing after the 6 week ultrasound but we didnt' find out till almost 8 weeks when I was spotting red blood and having cramps and I miscarried the next day. With my recent pregnancy loss it was a mmc and so I had to have a D&C my body didn't show any signs of passing the baby. Since you are having cramping that is a sign your body is ready to pass it naturally. The only reason you would need a d&c is if your body won't or doesn't pass all the tissue. I miscarried farther along so I don't know how much bleeding you would have but I would expect it to be a little worse than a bad period. I am sorry, I know how hard going through this is. I hope you don't have any complications and convieve again quickly.
