Looks like I may belong over here.....

...in the natural parenting section.

I didn't plan on being a "natural" parent. I didn't plan on not being one either. I actually wasn't really aware of the term.
But as we're moving along it seems like I'm practicing a lot of the principles of a "natural parent"
-I baby wear....not all the time but whenever we're out and about I try to wear him rather than push him around, around the house when he was a few weeks old I wore him a lot to help him sleep and relax, now I do in the house when he's in a "don't put me down" mood
-I've just started to cloth diaper, day 1 today! And very successful!
-I've always used cloth wipes
-I only use coconut oil ad a natural wipe solution I make on his body/bum
-I coslept for a few weeks but that doesn't really work for me but instead lo sleeps in a bassinet right next to my bed

So I wouldn't say I practice all natural parent things but we use a little bit of all parenting philosophys and it's working for us

Anyway....thought I'd say hello!

If anyone has any cloth diapering tips I'd love to hear them! Since I am so new at that.

Welcome :-). We don't all practice everything that's considered natural parenting, we all just do whatever works for ourselves.

Congratulations on a successful first day of cloth! What diapers are you using?

Oh and for the record, if he's in your room you're still co-sleeping :-) There's often confusion about the terms but cosleeping just means baby is in the same room, bed sharing is the further step of babies/toddlers sharing the big bed :-)

welcome, i baby wear when i can(she's one that likes to be held, that's the main reason i got the ergo)

we are starting cloth as soon as they arrive as i am sick of disposables.

i bed shared till she self weaned at 15 weeks we now co-sleep. but right now i do have her in bed for 2 hours of the night with me.

i'd love any info on an all natural hair and body wash for her right now we use live clean.

Oh ya thats what i meant haha dont bedshare anymore.

I bought a few different brands/kinds. Used....i figured since were new at this try a bunch to see what we like and what works for us.so i got a few of each.... bum genious, annie modorie padorie -AMP(i believe), charlie banana and itti butto. So a few or each kind of all in ones (figured a good way to ease in,especially for oh!), pockets and then the kind that have the snap in liners(not sure what those r called)

So far im liking the kind that grow with him! But not sure if hell get to the "in between" stages then i dunno how ill feel haha.
I also really like the pockets! Lo doesnt like being wet! (I sswear hell potty train early for that reason!) So the pockets r nice so he doesnt feel wet right away and freak out. I also used one over night and that so far is successful!

Welcome!

I don't do everything that's regarded as natural parenting, I just like to be as environmental & as natural with products etc as possible!

I do use cloth nappies & wipes & breastfeed, I don't often bed share as LO is happier in his room, & I didn't baby wear cause LO hated the sling! Loved being carried, just with arms, not fabric! Wee monkey!

I really like to minimise LOs exposure to any kind of chemicals or things like that, I haven't ever given him baby food jars & I try to reduce waste around the house as much as I can.

Welcome!

I'm far from a completely natural parent . . I still breastfeed LO at 19 months old, babywear, and co-sleep part-time . . I never did put him in cloth diapers though I was so uninformed about it when he was a little baby, and now that he's almost 2 I just don't see a point. I do plan on definitely using cloth diapers with my next babes though

hello!

I still consider myself a "natural" parent, even though I don't BF anymore (bubs can't latch properly due to severe tongue tie problems), I just stopped co-sleeping full time (she sleeps with me IN my bed when unsettled, but used to every night ) and have had to allow her to cry to sleep lately (PND made me a bit crazy...).

I wear her for a nap once a day, will be using cloth (again) soon now we have her bowel issues sorted (we used them but it was awful with her constant diarreah!), I have never let a commercial wipe TOUCH her, we don't use chemicals in the bath (except the expensive shampoo my hubby bought without reading the label, grr), and use mostly eco everything including biodegradable sposies. Anyhoo...Hi!!

I never thought I would take the "natural" parent route either and really just chose what works for us. I planned on breast feeding and thankfully its going great! We ended up with cloth diapers because LO kept having poo explosions and I was tired of either scrubbing or having to throw out outfits. We do not bed share/co-sleep because both my LO and I slept better once she was in her own room/crib. I'm just starting to get into baby wearing. This whole motherhood thing has been such a learning experience!
