Woven wrap

I've carried my son in a stretchy wrap since he was born, but it's getting to the point where he's too heavy for it. I'm a little baffled by the choice of woven wraps, so I was wondering if you lovely ladies could point me in the right direction

I'm 6 foot tall and a UK size 18/20, so I know I'm going to need a long wrap. I think I'll mainly use the wrap for back carries, but I would like the option of front carries while he's still small enough.

Which makes do people rate and recommend? I don't mind spending a bit of money, as basically the sling is in place of a pushchair (and it's going to be a birthday present ) Also, where do you buy your wraps from?

Thanks in advance!

Didymos, Natibaby, Storchenwiege, Hoppediz, Girasol, Neobulle, Vatanai and Ellevill are all good makes. I tend to buy either direct from the manufacturer's website or from http://www.lovetobenatural.co.uk/index.php. Here's a handy chart of wrap sizes http://didymos.de/english/index.php?...=sling%20sizes. It sounds like you'll probably need a size 7 to do most carries, although you could get away with something shorter for some rucksack and hip carries.

I had a look for sling meets, but couldn't see any around Birmingham. Where do you find the details usually?

Yeah, that's where I had a look when I googled it. Birmingham is a bit of a babywearing no-go area by the looks of it. Might sign up and revive the single, solitary, Birmingham thread

Thanks for all the different makes, gonna have a fun evening searching and trying not to bore the pants off my OH

I always used a gypsy mama woven wrap. LOVED it. when I first started using it i was around a size 20 and im 5'9. i was able to still do the final tie on the front, but could have done it on the back if i had been bigger!

Hi guys, just wanted to say one last thank you to you all. I decided on a Didymos 5.7m in the Iris pattern. It came yesterday and it's so pretty! Took it for a test spin and LO seems to like it too Looking forward to trying it out properly as he gets bigger.

Thanks again!
