How to soften woven wrap? help?

hi there ladies.

I've got myself a Storchenwiege woven wrap but i cant 'break it in' so to say.. i washed it in hot water, ironed it, sat on it, but it doesn't get any softer. we have hard water over here and i'm wondering if it will get this rough after each washing? please share any tips and tricks how to make it softer

thanks!

p.s. it's leo marine if anyone interested

I'm in a hard water area too and wraps do get a bit harder after washing, but not as bad as a brand new wrap. Saying that I don't tend to wash my wraps very often as I use SSCs in bad weather so they don't get too much of a beating!

Anyway one trick that works well if you have another wrap to use in the meantime is to stick it under your bedsheets for a couple of weeks and just leave it there.

Or braiding it/unbraiding it [will get a link of how to do this in a bit] running it in and out of cot bars and pulling on it, cool tumble drying with dryer balls [heard of people putting Crocs type shoes in there too!] seem to be the quickest ways

I'm not sure about wraps as I'm not a wrapper but in general for clothes and nappies (so I assume wraps too), you could try softening the water when you wash it maybe. Do you have something like Calgon wherever you are?

I braid them or run them through sling rings (banisters also work). I wouldn't use anything special in the washing water, it just needs to be broken in.
