I presoak mine and store them wet - just use water and a few drops of lavender oil. Might try camomile tea soon though!

I think I'd find it a pain to have to go and wet the wipes before each change. So I think I will wet a few at a time and keep them in a plastic box with a few drops of essential oil.

we soak 20 or so wipes in water etc and squeeze them out a bit, then keep them in a box

We use a tupperware and a few drops of tea tree oil and water. We wet the wipes as they are needed. We only pre wet if we are going out.

Has anybody ever seen anything about tea tree oil at low concentrations being counter-productive? I read recently that if you dilute it a lot (less than 4%), it doesn't work properly and can actually make bacteria more resistant to tea tree. It also said that in can possibly increase antibiotic resistance in human pathogens when the oil is really diluted - http://jac.oxfordjournals.org/content/59/1/125. I'd never heard anything about it before but it does make sense.

that does make sense. same with any other antibiotic. Guess I'll be better about measuring my tea tree oil/wipe wash solution. I had been told to use 5% TTO but had always just eyeballed it.

thanks for this info!! ive only been putting in about 3 drops of tea tree oil with about 2 cups of warm water, i assumed that since anymore than that smelled really strong that it would be bad for her botty! i best start measuring it out! xx

Is it the same with other essential oils? do their various properties become less productive if its too weak? x

Every time I've tried to keep them presoaked, even in small batches, with 1-2 days they STINK. Like mildew type smell. Whether it be just water, with essential oils or my solution I buy?

So we keep a bottle full of the solution and just spray his butt or the wipe and wipe him clean.
