Sunbaby Diapers on a small newborn

Since I see people ask often if Sunbaby diapers will work for newborns, I thought I'd post a picture of them on my small 6lb 6oz baby girl... for the record, they WON'T work for her currently. They're size 2's because I got them before the size 1's were available. But in case anyone wonders how they fit a little bitty baby, here ya go...

Surprisingly, the waist fits fine. They are on the tightest setting, of course, but they don't slide down or anything.

The problem is the legs for her...

That's a huge gap waiting for leakage. I find myself wondering if the size 1's would fit, but in the mean time, we're using Luvs. I hate paper diapers.

But that's Sunbaby on a relatively small newborn. For those who are wondering if they'll fit!

For the record? She was TOTALLY OK with getting this diaper put on. She cries like a demon when we put Luvs on her... I think she hates paper diapers too. Can't wait till her legs chunk up enough to use these.

She is so cute, congrats! Because she is so little, have you considered getting her some newborn nappies (I've heard Lil Joeys by Rumparooz are really good for small babies) and selling them on once you no longer need them? You could probably even get a bulk lot on eBay preloved

I keep being afraid that if I buy newborn diapers, that by the time they actually get here she'll be big enough for what we have. LOL

However, if I DON'T buy them, she'll probably not fit into what I have for 6 weeks. It's a fun catch 22.

I do have a few newborn diapers, but I used mostly prefolds and covers when LOs were itty. Both mine were in the 6-7lb range. They are skinny things at first, but they start filling out diapers at around 6 weeks, so the prefolds were a good option for us. You have to change them constantly anyway at that age. Also my son had very skinny legs and he didn't fit into AIOs, birth to potty, and pockets until he was well over a year - they ALWAYS leaked out the leg. We use fitteds with covers for both ours - works well for us! x

Also I got my newborn diapers preloved! That's a great way IMO since all my preloved diapers are basically brand new - only been worn once or twice. I packed up all mine and they are now worn by another friend of mine's LO.
