Frustrated trying to do babycarrying

It has to be my extreme sleep deprivation. I am having a terrible time figuring out how to baby wear. I have gone through 4 carriers already to find one that will work for me without too much struggle. Wraps are a no-go, I've been through a woven and a stretchy, both seemed totally impractical no matter how many times I practiced and I felt claustrophobic wrapped up in all that fabric. I wanted something more simple. I tried a sling but my baby screamed bloody murder. I tried a baby bjorn until I realized they suck and made Elan's balls turn bright red. So now, after hours of research, I have a Beco Butterfly 2, which seems awesome but I'm not sure about it. He's too big for the infant insert and I'm not sure he's big enough/ready for legs out and I'm not sure froggy legs are comfortable for him, plus it's just proving tricky to adjust the carrier's head support to where he isn't flopping around all crazy.

And yes, I've seen MANY YouTube vids on how to adjust these wraps and carriers.

It HAS to be exhaustion, because usually I am not so stupid at figuring things out...all I want to do is wear my baby but it all seems so complicated. I hope I can figure out the Beco, I feel like it's my last hope or something...I am desperate to get out of the house with my baby.

Why don't you post a couple of pics of LO in the carrier and people can give you some tips if there's anything that could be improved? It's a lot easier to advise when we can see It's often something really simple too.

First If it's something you really want to do, don't give up! I had a ring sling and I just didn't really like it...I never felt like LO was secure in it. I just used a regular front carrier and we both liked it. I would take DS for a walk and tell him the most boring stories on the planet and he would fall asleep. Good luck with the Beco

First of all don't be so hard on yourself! Your baby is still so tiny and it's a HUGE adjustment and then there are all these new things to learn too, you'll get the hang of it eventually once you find something that works for you.

Is there anything like a sling meet or group nearby that you could go to where other babywearers could give you hands-on advice? Or if not then like Rachel says, you could post some photographs to get some tips.

Some babies just don't like froggy-legs in i think but so long as his knees are higher than his hips that's the main thing.

Don't give up, it will be worth it

Thanks SO MUCH for the encouragement! I got my carrier to work properly with LO and am officially LOVING my Beco Butterfly! LO seems to love it, he falls right asleep usually once I start walking. It's SO NICE to get out of the house and take walks!

Now I am looking for a sling. I think the one I tried before wasn't a good one and I'd like to have a sling for around the house.
