Ok I think I've decided! Wrap experts needed...

Hey all,
I think ive finally made a decision on my woven wrap!! I already love my mobys but v excited about back carries now!
I think I'm going for an ellaroo.

I like maija I think but not sure what size.

On the website it says get small if you're under 5'4" and 130 lbs.

I'm 5'1" and 129lb and losing weight fast thanks to Breastfeeding but I'm currently an f cup bra size and a size 14 on top. No one else will be using the wrap.

What shall I go for? Small or medium?

Any tips??

Thanks ladies x

I don't buy woven wraps based on my size, but more based on the carries I want to do. Some carries take much more wrap than others - especially the multi-layer carries like Front Wrap Cross Carry - which is similar to the carry you do with the moby. They say that the most common base size is a 6 (equivalent to an Ellaroo medium 4.6m) because you can do any carry with it, but I think at your size you could easily buy a 5 (equivalent to Ellaroo small 4.1m). I can do any carry with a 5 and I'm 5'-7" but quite slim.

Also I find that the better you get at wrapping, the smaller a size you need as you become more efficient at doing it. I used to do a Double Hammock back carry with a 6 only, but now I can do it with a 5 and room to spare. So I would get the small if I were you, but if you want some extra room to play with and like having longer flowy tails (some women love them!) then I would go for the medium! xx

Sun broke it down perfectly! You'll probably do fine with a small. My .02, I started with a size 6 and an finding it to be a little overwhelming with so much fabric. I'm about 5'2" 150lbs so I'm not tall enough to off-set the length of the fabric. I've kept my original wrap but have now bought a couple shorter wraps for quick carries and for in parking lots etc. where I don't want tails dragging while wrapping.

I guess after all the rambling I just wanted to warn you that what might seem like the perfect wrap or length, once you get into it you may find that you like something else. I really thought I would want a wrap that would enable me to do any carry I want but now I'm realizing that I rarely fully utilize the length of my wrap.

Post pictures when you get it! We need to see action shots!

I have a few wraps in different sizes:

Didymos Anthracite Hemp Indio 6 (4.7m)
Ellevill Jade Mild 6 (4.7m)
Vatanai Igloolik 5 (4.0m)
Ellevill Jade Fog 4 (3.7m)
Didymos Iris between size 2 and 3 (around 2.9m)

I love all my wraps for different reasons. I love my indio because it's so supportive and cushy. I can carry LO all day in it and never get sore - but it is very long and warm. I like the Jade size 4 for doing quick back carries as it's also very supportive. But I probably use the Vatanai the most because it's thin, cool and very easy to stuff in my bag if I'm going somewhere. I didn't think of easy portability when I was buying, but the thin wraps are definitely easier to transport. It's also super soft, but not as cushy as the others - I have to wrap carefully if I know I'll be wearing for more than an hour or so. The shorty I use for hip carries, but not long term wearing. And I haven't used the Jade Mild at all. I actually got it because it was on sale for so cheap when I bought my Fog, that I just added it in. It's super nice though - just not broken in at all!

^^WSS! Unfortunately they're harder to hide than new cloth diapers!

I have:
Didymos Aqua Waves size 6
Didymos Clematis size 3
Storch Louise green 3.6 meter on the way

I think I'm going to stay around 3 wraps if I can. Maybe I'll see if I can do some trading later to experience some other wraps. I'm also considering an Indio or Pfau when its colder out but my wrappee needs to become more cooperative before I invest in any more wraps. She's a leg straightening leaner.
